Jacek Hałas
Jacek Hałas is a musician, singer, dancer, restless spirit, co-creator of recognised folk groups, art and theatre projects. For years, he has been looking for traces of vagabond songs in a living tradition, ethnographers' records and home archives.
He is also a co-creator of folk groups (Bractwo Ubogich, Muzykanci, Ket Jo Barat, Lautari, Kwartet Wiejski, Nomadzi Kultury), artistic projects (Poznań Dance House, Tikkun, the Book) and theatre (with Strefa Ciszy Theatre, Cinema, Schola Węgajty).
In addition, he deals with the traditions of vagabond singers, parade dance, workshops and educational activities. Together with his wife Alicja, they have travelled around Europe with their own yurt since 2005 as Nomads of Culture, where they present the results of their research and projects carried out together with artists from all over the world.
