Tomasz Stańko said there has never been a group like them in the entire history of Polish jazz. An entry in "BBC Music Magazine" stated that in today's jazz universe, there are many stars, but few pianists shine as brightly as Marcin Wasilewski. Together with the aforementioned artists, we invite you to the grand opening of the Espressivo series and to celebrate the thirtieth anniversary of the ensemble jointly.
Marcin Wasilewski Trio is an undisputed star of Polish jazz and the world's most well-known Polish jazz trio, recognised by critics as one of the most unique jazz formations of their generation. The trio's popularity is confirmed by streaming numbers, placing them among the leaders in the Polish music market.
The members of the trio, namely Marcin Wasilewski (piano), Sławomir Kurkiewicz (double bass), and Michał Miśkiewicz (drums), have collaborated with artists such as Tomasz Stańko (for over 20 years as part of his quartet), Branford Marsalis, and Jan Garbarek.
The anniversary tour began in January with the opening of the Brussels Jazz Festival. Then came stops in cities such as Amsterdam and London. In all locations on the tour, tickets were sold out before the event itself.
